【摘要】:1.1Thesepracticesdescribeseveralproceduresthatareusedtodeterminetheageresistanceofplastic,thermosetting,andelastomericmaterialsexposedtooxygen-containingmedia.1.2Whilethispracticefocusesonevaluatingtheageresistanceofpolymericmaterialsinoxygen-containingmediapriortoignitionandcombustiontesting,italsohasrelevanceforevaluatingtheageresistanceofmetals.1.3Thesepracticesaddressbothestablishedproceduresthathaveafoundationofexperienceandnewproceduresthathaveyettobevalidated.Thelatterareincludedtopromoteresearchandlaterelaborationinthispracticeasmethodsoftheformertype.1.4Theresultsofthesepracticesmaynotgiveexactcorrelationwithserviceperformancesinceserviceconditionsvarywidelyandmayinvolvemultiplefactors.1.5Threeproceduresaredescribedforevaluatingtheageresistanceofpolymericmaterialsdependingonapplicationandinformationsought.1.5.1ProcedureA:NaturalAgingThisprocedureisusedtosimulatetheeffect(s)ofoneormoreservicestressorsonamaterialsoxygenresistance,andissuitableforevaluatingmaterialsthatexperiencecontinuousorintermittentexposuretoelevatedtemperatureduringservice.1.5.2ProcedureB:AcceleratedAgingComparativeOxygenResistanceThisprocedureissuitableforevaluatingmaterialsthatareusedinambienttemperatureservice,oratatemperaturethatisotherwiselowerthantheagingtemperature,andisusefulfordevelopingoxygencompatibilityrankingsonalaboratorycomparisonbasis.1.5.3ProcedureC:AcceleratedAgingLifetimePredictionThisprocedureisusedtodeterminetherelationshipbetweenagingtemperatureandafixedlevelofpropertychange,therebyallowingpredictionstobemadeabouttheeffectofprolongedserviceonoxidativedegradation.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard,however,allnumericalvaluesmustalsobecitedinthesystemsinwhichtheywereactuallymeasured.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection10.
