【摘要】:Dataobtainedbythistestmethodisusedtocomparetheheat-softeningqualitiesofthermoplasticmaterials.Thistestmethodisusefulintheareasofqualitycontrol,development,andcharacterizationofplasticmaterials.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofthetemperatureatwhichaspecifiedneedlepenetrationoccurswhenspecimensaresubjectedtospecifiedcontrolledtestconditions.1.2Thistestmethodisnotrecommendedforethylcellulose,nonrigidpoly(vinylchloride),poly(vinylidenechloride),orothermaterialshavingawideVicatsofteningrange.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.4Duetothepotentialsafetyandenvironmentalhazardsassociatedwithmercury-filledthermometers,theuseofalternativetemperaturemeasuringdevices(suchasthermocouplesandRTDs)isencouraged.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThistestmethodisequivalenttoISO306inallsectionswiththeexceptionsoftheallowanceforcreep,priortothebeginningofthetestandtheallowanceofthefluidizedpowderasaheattransfermedium.
