【摘要】:Thisguideprovidesinformationrelativetoaircraftrescueandfire-fightingoperationsandproceduresforairportandstructuralfiredepartments.Statisticsindicatethatapproximately80percentofallmajorcommercialaircraftaccidentsoccurinthecriticalrescueandfire-fightingaccessarea.Thisistheprimaryresponseareaforairport-basedARFFservices.Approximately15percentoftheaccidentsoccurintheapproachareas.Insuchinstancesthecommunity/mutualservicescouldbetheprimeresponders.Someairportfiredepartmentshavethetotalfirepreventionandfireprotectionresponsibilityfortheentireairport,includingstructuralfire-fightingresponsibilitiesinterminalbuildings,aircrafthangars,airporthotels,cargobuildings,andotherfacilities.Proceduresforthesefirepreventionandprotectionoperationsarenotcoveredinthisguide.
