【摘要】:1.1Thispracticepresentsalaboratoryproceduretodeterminethethermalresistanceofatticinsulationsystemsundersimulatedsteady-statewinterconditions.Thepracticeappliesonlytoatticinsulationsystemsthatfaceanopenatticairspace.1.2Thethermalresistanceoftheinsulationisinferredfromcalculationsbasedonmeasurementsonaceilingsystemconsistingofcomponentsconsistentwiththesystembeingstudied.Forexample,suchasystemmightconsistofagypsumboardorplywoodceiling,woodceilingjoists,andatticinsulationwithitstopexposedtoanopenairspace.Thetemperatureappliedtothegypsumboardorplywoodshallbeintherangeof18to24176;C(64to75176;F).Theairtemperatureabovetheinsulationshallcorrespondtowinterconditionsandmayrangefrom-46176;Cto10176;C(-51to50176;F).Thegypsumboardorplywoodceilingshallbesealedtopreventdirectairflowbetweenthewarmandcoldsidesofthesystem.1.3Thispracticeappliestoawidevarietyofloose-fillorblanketthermalinsulationproductsincludingfibrousglass,rock/slagwool,orcellulosicfibermaterials;granulartypesincludingvermiculiteandperlite;pelletizedproducts;andanyotherinsulationmaterialthatmaybeinstalledpneumaticallyorpouredinplace.Thepracticeconsiderstheeffectsonheattransferofstructures,specificallytheceilingjoists,substrate,forexample,gypsumboard,airfilms,andpossiblefacings,films,orothermaterialsthatmaybeusedinconjunctionwiththeinsulation.1.4Thispracticemeasuresthethermalresistanceoftheattic/ceilingsysteminwhichtheinsulationmaterialhasbeenpreconditionedaccordingtothematerialSpecificationsC549,C665,C739,andC764.1.5Thespecimenpreparationtechniquesoutlinedinthisstandarddonotcoverthecharacterizationofloose-fillmaterialsintendedforenclosedapplications.1.6Thispracticemaybeusedtocharacterizematerialbehaviorundercontrolledsteady-statelaboratoryconditionsintendedtosimulateactualtemperatureconditionsofuse.Thepracticedoesnotsimulateforcedairflowconditions.1.7AllvaluesshallbereportedinbothSIandinch-poundunitsunlessspecifiedotherwisebytheclient.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
